February Update

We have tremendous news for you this week. I can report that you have invested just over £100,000 in Reynoldston Community Shop Limited, and so we are now in a position to formally commence the purchase of the Post Office building. We have commissioned a full structural survey, and have instructed solicitors to act on our behalf – with the aim of exchanging contracts at the end of March (subject of course to satisfactory outcome of survey and searches, etc.)..
We still have a small shortfall to make up to ensure that RCS Limited has adequate funds to cover all essential purchase costs, and to build a small retention fund for any future upgrades and improvements. To this end we are launching one last call for investment targeted at the few remaining villagers who, for whatever reason, have yet to invest. At this stage, any investment, however small, will make a difference.
In parallel, we are running a tender process to identify and select our preferred candidates to run the shop and Post Office on your behalf. More news on this soon!
Finally, I must thank you all once again for investing in Reynoldston Community Shop Limited. Because of your support it is now very likely that we will be able to save the Post Office and shop … there is still a lot of work to do, and doubtless we will need a little luck, but I’m confident that with your continued support that we will be able to do it.
Thank you all once again!
With very best wishes,
Laurence Carpanini and the Reynoldston Community Shop Limited Management Committee
